about

Quemando Palabras is a music-poetry collective leaded by Juan Pino, working and travelling between Copenhagen Denmark and Quito Ecuador.
The debut album “Mama America” was released in Europe and Ecuador in 2010, from which the title track was nominated best new folk song ’11 by the National Radio of Ecuador.
The word and its power are at the centre of the expression; it becomes rhythm, melody and movement. The message is moving through the pulse as flowers are jumping on water stones.
The verses of the Latin American ‘70s street poets meet in brotherhood with modern rap art, while ancient rhythms melt with burning beats.
The music is a travel from the Andes’ roots to the urban culture of today’s Latin America, together with a European singer-songwriter and electronic approach.
The musicians involved are the expression of the multicultural character of the project, from the Ecuadorian rapper Iván Pino to the Danish multiinstrumentalist Søren Pendrup.
